WP Award nominations are open for 2026

Nominate standout advisors and firms for the Wealth Professional Awards at Liberty Grand

WP Award nominations are open for 2026

The Wealth Professional Awards are back for 2026, marking twelve years as the benchmark for excellence in Canada’s wealth management community.

On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Toronto’s Liberty Grand, the country’s top advisors, firms, and leaders will gather to recognise the people and teams shaping the future of advice in Canada.

This is where standout leadership, client impact, and innovation in wealth management take centre stage as part of Wealth Professional’s national platform.

The WP Awards are more than a night out.

They are an opportunity to shine a national spotlight on the professionals who raise the bar for clients and for the industry.

As Trez Capital’s Wan Kim put it, it is “really important that we recognize what we’re doing to help Canadians, to help investors, and to really showcase high quality and that great client experience.”

Nominating a peer, colleague or team is a serious responsibility. It means putting forward people whose work you believe represents the best of Canadian wealth management, whether they are transforming responsible investing, building leading advisory teams, or pushing the boundaries of WealthTech.

Excellence Awardees will be announced in March 2026, with winners revealed live on stage at the gala on June 4, giving nominees, their firms, and their clients a powerful moment of national recognition.

Past winners say the awards reflect not only performance, but the deeper purpose behind their work.

After claiming the Franklin Templeton Award for Advisory Team of the Year (10 staff or more), David LePoidevin described how his passion for markets is tied directly to client outcomes. He said, “I like to make money, and clients want to make money, so we’re all in it together.”

Sponsors echo that these awards are about supporting the long-term health of the profession.

Christina Ashmore of IFSE Institute noted that backing categories such as Financial Literacy Champion is a way to highlight those “staying ahead of the curve” in educating and empowering Canadians.

From Canadian Advisor of the Year and Portfolio/Discretionary Manager of the Year to Employer of Choice, ETF Provider of the Year and WealthTech Service Provider of the Year, categories have recognized names such as Maili Wong, Skyline, Global X Investments Canada, Nicola Wealth and Conquest Planning – underscoring the calibre of professionals and firms that the WP Awards attract.

The 2026 Wealth Professional Awards are supported by a strong roster of sponsors who help make this national celebration possible and who share a commitment to advancing professional standards across advice and asset management.

This year’s partners include Cambridge Investment Research as Social Media Sponsor, Destiny Family Office as Associate Sponsor, and Nasdaq Inc., Park Avenue Securities, Thrivent Financial and Prudential Advisors as title sponsors for key awards spanning RIA excellence, CEO leadership, philanthropy, and asset management.

The 2026 Wealth Professional Awards gala will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Liberty Grand in Toronto.

Now in its twelfth year, the event remains a fixture on the industry calendar, bringing together advisors, portfolio managers, wealth firms, product providers and service partners from across Canada for an evening that combines recognition, networking and celebration.
